The Brief
A renowned 5-star resort in the Maldives was developing new overwater villa-suites and wanted an exclusive wellness amenity for each suite. The vision: private swim spas integrated into each villa's deck, offering guests an immersive hydrotherapy experience with uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean.
The resort required B2B-grade manufacturing with strict quality and durability standards. After evaluating suppliers across Europe and Asia, the project team selected Aqua Lux Pro for our expertise in marine-grade stainless steel fabrication and competitive lead times.
Four custom-configured swim spa units were ordered for Phase 1 of the resort expansion, with an option for additional units in subsequent phases.
The Challenge
- Constant saltwater exposure and humidity exceeding 85% year-round demanded materials with exceptional corrosion resistance. Standard 304 stainless steel would not suffice for this environment.
- The remote island location required all equipment to arrive in perfect condition via container shipping and small-vessel transfer, with zero tolerance for transit damage.
- Installation had to be completed within a narrow 2-week weather window between monsoon seasons, requiring precise logistics coordination.
The Aqua Lux Pro Solution
Aqua Lux Pro specified 316 marine-grade stainless steel for all structural components, including fully enclosed pipe systems and reinforced acrylic panels rated for extreme UV exposure. The molybdenum content in 316 provides superior resistance to chloride-induced pitting.
Pre-shipment testing was conducted in a simulated saltwater environment to validate corrosion resistance before dispatch. Each unit was packed in reinforced wooden crates with moisture-barrier wrapping for the ocean freight journey.
Custom 316 stainless steel anchor brackets and a detailed installation guide were provided, enabling the resort's local contractors to complete all four installations within 10 days — well ahead of the monsoon deadline.
